The Golden Art of Repair: Kintsugi with POJ Studio

This one-day kintsugi event is hosted at Tim Clarke Design Studio in Santa Monica on September 12, with two sessions available.  

Experience the beauty of imperfection through kintsugi — the traditional Japanese art of golden repair.

This 105-minute workshop begins with a grounding 15-minute meditation to center your mind and prepare you for the meditative art form. 

Over the course of the event, you will learn about kintsugi's cultural context from our Kyoto-trained instructor and follow the steps for gold application, taking home a ware finished with metallic powder at the end of the session. 

You'll get to enjoy Japanese tea and light refreshments as you participate in the repair process.

Led by Miya Smith, POJ Studio’s Los Angeles-based instructor, this intimate session is open to ages 13+ and offers a mindful, hands-on introduction to a centuries-old craft. Materials to make your own cup are included.
